SOMETHINGWRONG is formed on 02 September 1997 in Yogyakarta
This band bring the music type hardcore, or more clear old school hardcore.
Formation early this band consist of: Latu ( vocal), Wowok ( vocal), Hendi ( guitar), Soetik ( bass), and Karel ( drum). In the year 1998, SOMETHINGWRONG follow in compilations Yogyakarta United Underground with bands underground from various the stream residing in Yogyakarta.

But some month;moons after making the album compilations this, both vocalisnya retire, and his position is replaced by Kucing.
Entry of vocalis newly this strengthen SOMETHINGWRONG in growth of music character and progress.
SOMETHINGWRONG a little a few by bands outside, especially by bands old school New York Hardcore be like Agnostic Front, 25 ta Life, Warzone, as well as a little a few by some bands Europen Hardcore be like Discipline, Brightside, and others.

But in growth of his music SOMETHINGWRONG also get influence from music type besides hardcore, be like music type Oil, Metal, and Punk. But that way SOMETHINGWRONG fixed try to have the character alone musical becausely do not want to be stamped as the band always go with the tide at his favorite bands.
Since early formed, in each his staging SOMETHINGWRONG have brought their own creation songs beside also songs of band hardcore their favorite.

In October 1999 SOMETHINGWRONG enter the studio recording to record their 8 creation song as tape demonstration.
On 6 March 2000 SOMETHINGWRONG have to lose their drummer because passing away.
And in memory of Karel, recorded tape demonstration in October 1999 that made as album SOMETHINGWRONG which given by  the title ” DEMONSTRATION ‘99″.
Formation in this album Kucing ( vocal), Hendi ( guitar), Soetik ( bass), and Karel ( drum).
This album is printed more or less 300 copy and circularized indiely lable.

After Karel die, drum position replaced by Seto.
About 3 year after first album made, that is in March 2003, SOMETHINGWRONG return to enter the record studio to record the songs as items for their second album.
this Second album  have a  title ” GET OFF MY BACK” and made in first time in July 2003 by Napi Records ( Bandung) and still in the form of indie lable also.
this Second album contain the 13 song 2 between its taken away from by the album DEMO ‘ 99 with title ” Erase All Labels” and ” Disaster Man Made” Theme peep at in this second album don’t far differ from alburn first, that is concerning brotherhood, togetherness, scene, social protest, human relation with him nature and some trouble social in everyday life.

Music SOMETHINGWRONG in this album experiencing of many change and progress compared to the first album of him although remain to in line old school hardcore. In this time SOMETHINGWRONG more emphasizing style in the music they bring as according to their soul, and their call style their music with the title YOGYAKARTA HARDCORE!!!
